Bridgepoint Education, a for-profit higher education company headquartered in San Diego, California, was founded in 2004 on the principle that anyone who is academically prepared deserves access to higher education without sacrificing quality, transferability of credits, accessibility, academic standards or credentials. Bridgepoint Education owns and operates two regionally accredited academic institutions, Ashford University and University of the Rockies, which offer Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs online, as well as through traditional campuses located in Clinton, Iowa, and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Ashford University and University of the Rockies are regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
As of June 30, 2009, we had 45,504 total students enrolled in our institutions, 99% of whom were attending classes exclusively online, and we offered over 1,026 courses and 52 degree programs with 37 minors and 113 specializations.
